Fall is coming!

Fall is coming.  Last couple of days have been beautiful but the nights are definitely getting cooler.  Makes for wonderful sleeping!  If we could just keep the 70 degree days and low 40s in the night, things would be heavenly!
I have done a few fall cards, several of them with images from Fresh Brewed Designs.
Here is the latest.
That bee just makes me want to smile!  The sentiment, also from Heather at FBD,
is from a gardening set but works perfectly with this image!
The coloring is with Copics.
The DP is DCWV.
The flowers are punched and shaped by me using fiskar punches.
The sentiment is on a Spellbinders die cut.
The leaves are a MariAnnes die cut.
The ribbon and bling is from my stash.
There is liquid pearls in the flower centers.

Have you had your Mammogram this year?

Update:  This card is winner at 'My Time Made Easy' challenge 27!

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  Remember is do your monthly
self-checks, your annual visit with your MD and your mammograms as ordered by your MD>

On September 21, Fresh Brewed Designs had a blog hop to showcase some new stamps,
both rubber and digital to support the breast cancer awareness effort.

There are currently 3 women in my life that have conquered breast cancer.
First is Marsha who I work with in the ER.  The other two women are Sally and Mary.
They are all amazing women who fought their breast cancer with grace, humor and dignity.  I am
priviledged to know them all and call them friends.

There is one other 'forgotten' group of women out there that are on a daily crusade
against breast cancer.  This card is going to the women that staff the
Bay Area Hospital Mammography Center.  October is the month to salute those who
have and/or will combat breast cancer, and those who go in daily in an attempt to
find it in time to defeat it.

Both DP are digi papers from JustYolie
The main image is from Fresh Brewed Designs
The sentiment and bra images are from Our Craft Lounge
The die cuts are all from Spellbinders and Spellbinders Grands.
Ink used is Memento and coloring with Copics.
The brads, ribbon and vellum are from my stash.

Happy Birhday Dad!

My dad is 75 today, September 21.  I wish him the happiest year yet!

I go out of my way to please my dad (most of the time).  There was nothing worse than having
my dad look at me and say, "I am so disappointed in you......"  UGH!  It was horrible!  LOL
Luckily, I haven't had to hear that for a long time..
Anyway, here is his birthday card from me.

Can't believe I forgot to take a pic of the inside.  There is a sentiment from Create with TLC that says
"Certified Antique".  TLC also is responsible for the sentiment in the sun.
The image and main sentiment is from Dude Time Doodles.  The sun and the bugs
are stamps from Our Craft Lounge
Everything is colored with copic markers.  There is sakura glitter pen used, crafty sparkles from OCL and some ultra thick embossing powder on the 'ye old guy' sentiment.
The button and waxed blue string are from my stash.  The punch on the bottom of the card
is one of the new edge punch and embossing sets from Spellbinders!  Love it!

This card may be entered in the following challenges:
Bearly Mine Challenges:  Button it up.
Crafty Sentiments:  Happy Birthday

Are you Ready for some Football?

It is definitely football season in my house!  That means Sundays, Monday nights, Thursday nights when that starts and finally even on Saturdays!  And I am right there with Steve watching the games, cheering and jeering just as loudly (because every one knows that we can do it better than those guys!) LOL
What could be better than watching a bunch of buff men running around in tight pants, umm, I mean a bunch of professional athletes running around playing football!

In honor of my husband's favorite team 'THE PITTSBURG STEELERS" (that's how he says it!)
My card today is black, yellow, red and sports the appropriate Steeler necessities.

Yeah, a little on the bright side, isn't it!
The image is from Fresh Brewed Designs and is called 'Marina, one of a kind".
She is one of the beautiful rubber stamps that Heather released last spring.  You can
find her and all the other water loving creatures at the Fresh Brewed Store.
All of the papers used are plain cardstock except the one with the image which is copic
x-press blend paper.  The image is stamped with Memento ink and colored with
copic markers and cut out with a nestibility.  There is glossy accents over the bubbles.
Both sentiments are computer generated and cut out with nesties.
The black and yellow background was run through my Grand Calibur (Yippee! I have been
wanting to say that since I bought it.  I LOVE IT) with a cuttlebug embossing folder.
The cute little pom-poms were made with yellow and black twine from
The Twinery.  I just wrapped around a scrap of paper, tied the bundle  in the middle, trimmed all the loops open and even and then tied them again after bending them in half where the first knot was.
A few liquid pearls to finish the card and TA-DA!
Swing by Fresh Brewed Challenges and join in our month long challenge, "Use something New"

Crop, Paper, Scissors

Going to give it a go and teach a class.  Amazingly, there is not copic coloring involved at all!  Didn't even plan it that way!  LOL
On November 5, 2011 Crop, Paper, Scissors is having a crop from 8am to 8pm at the
Celebration Center in North Bend (Coos Bay) Oregon.  I was invited to do a class.
Cami from Our Craft Lounge has generously provided the stamp set to do the cards with.
I spent Saturday figuring out the cards, knowing there would only be an hour for the class.
This is what we will be making.  (Will make one, take home the goodies to make the other)

The kits will include all the paper (some color choices for the colored card) the ribbon, snowflakes and brads.  The card body, embossed section and snowflakes are precut to save time.
If you want the recipe for this card...........sign up for the class!  LOL

Ring, ring......Sending a Happy Hello!

Ring, Ring........Sending out a happy hello to anyone that is listening!
This is a new stamp that I got from the Fresh Brewed Designs new release.  (Didn't that blog
hop yesterday just rock!)

I just fell in love with this stamp.  There are so many ways that you could use this card.
I wanted a card that I could use in any occasion.  The phone is stamped with Memento tuxedo black ink.  I stamped 3 or 4 images, colored them all with copics and then cut out pieces and did lots of layering (see pic 2) to give a 3-D look.
All of the papers are from my stash along with the half pearls, ribbon and heart brads.
The flowers are handmade using several Fiskars punches.  The leaves are a Marianne die. All other die cuts were made using Spellbinders.
The sentiment inside  the card is from Our Craft Lounge.  I wrapped the sentiment with a little
piece of twine from The Twinery to 'tie' it all together.

Does September mean it has to be Autumn?

It's the first Monday of September.  It's Labor Day.  It's the day before school starts here on Oregon's coast.  Does all this mean that Autumn is here?   Well, it is definitely cold, damp and foggy here!
It also happens to be Mocha Manic Monday over at Fresh Brewed Designs!  That means that there is a
freebie up for grabs!  Go get  'Autumn Angel Cake' and create something!

She is quite cute and very easy to color!  (Just about anything is easy to color with copics!
She is printed out on Neenah Solar White.  The die cut is a Spellbinder.  The extra leaves
are an unlabeled punch that I have had forever.  The Sentiment is from
Create with TLC.  The banner was hand cut and inked with Memento inks.
The button, ribbon and twine are all from my stash.

This card may be entered in the following challenges:
Fresh Brewed Designs:  Mocha Manic Monday (DT card)

A tag it is..........

Playing around in the craft room (obviously having a good day!) and saw this little scrap
of kraft paper just sitting there.  To small for a card.  What to do.  Well, it was almost the
shape of a tag, and I very rarely do a tag (can't remember the last one.  Maybe for a gift a
Christmas last year.....)
Well, a tag it is!

Actually turned out OK.  I'm not very 'into' the shabby, distressed look but I like the way this came out.  Guess I would call it grungy!  I know I was sure inked up by the time I was done.
The butterfly is from Our Craft Lounge.  They have a spectacular selection of stamps (clear and rubber) to choose from at really reasonable prices.  They also just finished a blog hop for their new releases.
The "pearls" are actually liquid pearls (except for those over the flowers).  The pearls over the flowers are on little clear, stiff filaments.  Bought a bunch in a bag at a garage sale for a quarter!  Gotta love a great deal!
The flowers, brads, button and seam binding are all from my stash.  The twine is from The Twinery.  The whole tag was sprayed with gold 'Smooch Spritz'.

This card may be entered in the following challenges:
Our Craft Lounge:  Anything goes
Creative Inspirations:  Set of 3 (I actually fit into all 3 sets, I think)
Getting Cricky:  Things with wings
The Secret Crafter:  The colors of Autumn

Swing on a Star

Would you like to swing on a star?  I love this new image and sentiment from GingerLoft Designs.
Add a sky and this card is perfect for the 'Make a sky' challenge on GingerLoft.

Some ribbon, a couple flat back pearls and a Spellbinder die cut set off these newbies from
GingerLoft Designs.  Add a sky done with Memento inks and a Stampscapes stamp and
the sky is done.  A little bit of glitter on the moon gives a touch of sparkle.

This card may be entered in the following challenges:
GingerLoft Designs:  Make a sky (DT card)
There she goes stamps:  One layer card, POP your image (Moon and sentiment on dimensionals)
Delicious Doodles:  New to you (just got the image from GingerLoft)

One last beach party!

Seems like everywhere that I look, school has already started.  Well, not here!
Our kids start school on the day after Labor Day.  So....one more week to enjoy the wonderful
weather that we are finally having here on the Oregon Coast!  Seems like one more beach
party is called for.

The girl and palm tree are both images from Fresh Brewed Designs.  They absolutely
scream 'Summer'.  Both stamps are in rubber, just like the stamps in the new release
on Sept. 8.
The flower is a laser cut from a little scrapbook store on Maui called 'Island Paperie'.
The cuts are specific to that store and are beautiful.  They have a large selection to choose from.
The background is a Spellbinder die cut, inked with Momento inks.  The other coloring is
all with copic markers.  There are stickles on the drink, the sun and in the palm tree.
The DP is from a DCWV photo stack.  The bling is from Recollections.

This card may be entered in the following challenges:
A Spoonful of Sugar:  Party Time (It's a Luau)
Stamps R Us:  Anything Goes
Creative Belli:  Use velum
