CPS-card sketch

This is my 2nd post today.  This card is for the CPS card sketch.  It is basically a CAS sketch that you 'doctor up' with your own ideas.  I kept mine very simple and relied on the embossed DP to carry the card.
The card base is black cardstock.
The DP is embossed paper I got in a variety pack of  black papers from Costco years ago.
The sentiment is from OCL set 'Say it Big'
Copper Imbossing on sentiment by Al `a Mode
Ribbon from my stash
Inky Dinky Dew Drops from Inky Inspirations sit just above the ribbon.
On the inside,

...is a sheet of Neenah solar white cardstock
Punched with EK success punch to dress it up!

OCL Sketch Challenge

Every Friday Our Craft Lounge posts a new sketch challenge for their followers and friends.  At the end of the month, they do a random drawing for with winner a set of their stamps.  Winner gets to pick the set!
I have just gotten off a horrendous stretch of 12 hr shifts in the ER (8 out of 9 days) and am definitely ready for some time in my craft room without anything more serious to think about or decide about than layout and colors!
Here is my entry into the challenge that was posted on last Friday.

Image:  OCL - Hangin Loose with Kona (turtle and sentiment)
Image:  Bird's Cards (VW bus)
Coloring:  Copics, Memento Ink, atyou spica, Sakura glaze pen
DP:  DCWV pack 7 (wave)
Shapes:  Oval scalloped nestie
Scrap basket:  plaid paper, fish buttons and raffia
This is a wonderful image set to work with.  Makes me think of summer not matter the weather (raining here).  Turtle, sentiment, VW all up on pop dots.

I WON! OCL blog hop candy

I am sooooo excited.  I won another stamp set from the recent Our Craft Lounge blog hop celebrating the release of their latest stamps.  This is the set that Cami had, the cute fortune teller with her crystal ball.  It is called Crystal-Clear.  How cute is this!?!
After a wonderful day coloring with Cami and Kisa on Saturday, this just really is the frosting on the cake.  Thanks very much to Cami and Our Craft Lounge for the candy!

Sketch and a class

Today I am posting the card I made for this weeks sketch challenge over at Our Craft Lounge.  It is a beautiful sketch, probably as close to a CAS card I will ever get (LOL)!  The stamp set was designed by Kisa and is based on her children.  It is truly beautiful!
This image is printed on Neenah Solar White, colored with copics.  The DP are scraps with ocean prints from my scrap basket.  The ribbon is embossed in white with shells (hard to photograph).  It came from Inky Inspirations as a freebie when I placed an order with them.  The punch is EK success.  Very quick and simple card once I figured out how to NOT put on "all that extra stuff"!

I spent today at Memories of Time (my LSS) in Coos Bay, Oregon.  Cami and Kisa had a copics coloring day that lasted for *gasp* HOURS.  It was a blast.  Their partner in OCL, Joy and a couple of copic gurus from Portland came down to play with us also.  They gave away cool kits to everyone who came-OCL stamp sets, Copic refill, flowers, perfect pearls from Ranger (Tim is a friend on Joy's and gave her them to give us!) and a spray mister bottle.  They also did name drawings all day long.  I won one which had a couple of hero arts stamps, a package of flowers from kaiser, x-press it high tack tape sample roll and a package of self stick gems from kaiser!  What a haul!  All this and we also got some great tips on working with copics.  Especially "Just Do It"  which was Cami's battle cry for the day.  Below are the cards and the tag that I completed while at the class.  The images are all from Our Craft Lounge.

This was a really great day.  Nice people, good instructors and some really good food!

Wishing you a bee-utiful day.............

Today is the new sketch at Our Craft Lounge.  A simple layout with lots of potential!
The card is a 5 x 5 of black cardstock.  The DP is part of a paper from DCWV.  The ribbon is from a garage sale.  The images are OCL, 'Bees Knees'.  The hive and the bees are on pop dots.  The top and bottom of the card base are embossed with my big shot.
This was a quick 20 minute card.  (Cutting the bees out for dimension to the longest time)!

Boldly Going Nowhere !?

This weeks Doodle Dragon Studio Challenge is a recipe.  You have to include buttons, stitching and a decorative edge.  To win you must also use a Doodle Dragon (Dustin Pike) image.  Definitely an easy assignment as Dustin has tons of freebie images on his blog and lots for sale in his store.
In this case, boh the lady bug at the bottom left and the flower at the upper right are buttons.  There is faux stitching on the bright pink die cut and I used an EK success border punch for the edges.  The papers and flowers are all from my scrap basket (gotta love that!)  The Dustin Pike image is colored with copics and the sentiment is from Elegant Word Art.  Bethany does an amazing amount of blogging and gives away daily word art.  Please visit her site here.

Digi shack images for a challenge

There are challenges all over out there in blog land.  As my hand is feeling so much better, I have been carding like crazy.  I joined the digi shack on ustream yesterday and won a couple of digi stamps!  I have already made them into cards.  Both of them fit the challenge at By the Cute and Girly which is to have an us an animal.

Both images are colored with copics.  Ribbon, flowers and bling are all from my stash.  No DP is used, only plain cardstock and some memento ink.  Border done with my EKsuccess punch and background embossing using my bigshot.

Our Craft Lounge Sketch Challenge

It's time once again for a sketch challenge over at Our Craft Lounge.  See the sketch and the rules, go  here .
They do a monthly drawing for a free stamp set from OCL.
I am officially crafting 2 handed now.  The sutures and pin are out of my hand.  The right is pretty tight and weak but moving better every day!  The pic shows the pin (and hole) and the scar that I have to remind me to 'keep the rubber down' while on my motorcycle.  LOL
My card today is for my friends Danna and Bill who lost their father and granddad this past week.  I had actually made a sympathy card for the first time in months the morning that he passed.  Little did I know that I would use it so soon.  In his honor, I have made another (to fit the sketch) and let Danna and Bill know that I am thinking of them.
The stamp set:  Natures Notes from OCL
Coloring:  Copics, Ranger Alcohol Inks, Copper Embossing Powder
and Memento Rich Cocoa dye ink.
Bling:  Coffee Bean Brown sparkly-fluff, dazzling diamonds glitter, inky-dinky drops.  The ribbons are both from GARAGE SALES!  Gotta love that!
Die Cuts:  Nestibilities
DP:  Printed digital paper from Sharon B. at 'Steady On'
The butterflies were embossed with copper powder on some glossly white cardstock that I had alcohol inked with pinks and purples (hard to see in the photo)
The butterflies, the flowers and the sentiment are all on pop dots for dimension.
This card will also be posted for: (please visit their sites)
The Stamp Man Challenges:  2 colors (pink and brown)
Lollipop Crafts:  Anything goes
