Our Craft Lounge Challenge

Our Craft Lounge has another weekly sketch up and running.  Go to the site and check it out!  This weeks has lots of layers.  I managed to get one more card in for today and here it is:
The butterflies are from 'Natures Notes' from Our Craft Lounge.  All of the cardstock is mirror finish (very hard to photograph!) and most of it came from Couture Cardstock.  The ribbon is from Michaels, the glitter is dazzling diamonds from SU.  Copic markers for coloring the butterflies and the half pearls.  Lots of dimensionals, under the panels and to lift the edges of the butterfly wings, to give the card some character.
The mirror cardstock is fairly easy to work with and cuts very smoothly.  Just wouldn't want to have to photograph it very often!
Good Night

Multiple challenges, couple of cards!

What a rainy, stormy day it has been!  Hasn't let up all day and I have gotten to play in the craft room for almost all of it!  I have 2 cards that I did today that fit into several current challenges.  The first card is entered in challenges at:
Papertake Weekly:  Open theme
Cute Daisy Mae:  For the boys
Inky Impressions:  Recycle it
The images are all freebies from Dustin Pike's website!  Isn't it a great background!  Coloring is with copics.  SU dazzling diamonds on the hand drawn anchor.  The paper is from my scrap basket and the sentiment a random stamp in my drawer.  I just love the dragon stamps and Dustin puts lots of freebies on his website.  Check Here
My second card is for several challenges also.  They are:
Couture Cardstock:  Unusual color for me
Friday Sketchers:  sketch challenge
The Cuttlebug Spot:  Pink and green
This another digistamp from Dustin Pike's website. (a freebie!)  The bg paper is DCWV,  plain brown cardstock on kraft paper cs.  The ribbon is from Michael's, SU dazzling diamonds, flowers that I punched, generic rhinestones and coloring with my copics.  The sentiment is from SU.
Have had great frun today but means I probably won't get to play for a couple of days!  Oh well............

Easter is coming! Easter is coming!

This card is for 2 challenges:  Doodle Dragon Studio Challenge using one of Doodle Dragon  images and Couture Cardstock using a medium along with the cardstock.  This was a fun image to play with.  Gotta love a dragon getting into Easter!
Debbie Mumm bg paper, scrap ribbon and yarn. A Doodle Dragon Studio image colored with copic markers.  Nesties to frame a hand printed sentiment.  There are SU dazzling diamonds, insects from an Our Craft Lounge stamp set and Diamond Glaze for some shine and depth.  A thin strip of the bg paper on the inside and the card is ready to go to my son and his SO in Oklahoma!

Faux stitching for Couture Cardstock

Faux or real (yeah, right!) stitching is the requirement for todays entry into the month long, daily contests at Couture Cardstock.  Doing some planning ahead for father's day!
Kraft cardstock for the card.  The image is a digital that I downloaded.  I'm sorry I don't remember where.  It is colored with copics.  There is paper and ribbon from my scrap box.  A nestie is used to cut out the sentiment which is from SU.  Faux pearls, colored with my copics and dazzling diamonds from SU.  Faux stitching finishes it off.  This was a fun card to work on.  I am definitely getting to like these digital stamps!

Our Craft Lounge challenge

Our Craft Lounge sketch challenge is the basis for this card.  Pretty easy sketch, seems sort of blank at the bottom.  Hard for me to leave open spaces like that.  I finally put glitter on the bottom row of flowers to spice it up a little.
Not sure what I'll do with this card, but some little girl will like it!
The image is (of course) Our Craft Lounge.  Copic markers for the coloring, nesties for the cropping, SU dazzling diamonds and papers from my scrap box.

Multiple challenge card!

Today I am posting a card that enters several challenges going on right now.  I find that it is a real challenge to make a card that incorporates several different requirements and still "works".  This card uses the sketch challenge from Friday Sketchers,  the Cute Daisy Mae challenge to use a fairy,  KL Scrapin & Stampins challenge to us flowers and stitching (faux in my case), Couture Cardstock's daily challenge is to use red (see the mushroom and ladybug), The Cuttlebug Spot challenge to include wings and the Paper Take Weekly challenge to us lilac and lemon.  I hope you enjoy the card.
The fairy is from Our Craft Lounge.  The cardstock for the card is Couture Cardstock.  The patterned ivory paper is from the DCVW luxury stack.  The main image and sentiment are stamped on Neenah solar white.  There is a copious amount of SU dazzling diamonds, copic markers, scrap paper, eyelash yarn and dimensionals also used.  The flower is a JoAnns white flower colored with my copics, a rhinestone brad completes the flower.  Inking with Memento inks on some edges and faux stitching on others completes the card.

Another day with Couture Cardstock

Today is the 18th day in a row in the Couture Cardstock daily giveaway.  Here is my submission for today.

Couture Cardstock month long prizes!

My cardstock that I won from Couture cardstock came in today.  How beautiful!  I have been playing with it already.  Some of it is really glamourous.  I can't wait to post something made with it.   This is my entry for today.  To use dimensionals in a project.
This is a freebie digital image from Hambostamps.  (thanks!) The bee and the fish are from Our Craft Lounge stamp sets.  The flipflops are a single stamp of unknown origin.  Colored with copics, scraps of paper and ribbon.  There is SU dazzling diamonds, pearls, faux stitching and dimensionals all used.  The flowers are from Joanns.  Plain white, colored with my copics to match the coloring.  There is no sentiment yet, not sure where or why this one is going yet.
Hope you enjoy this one.

Visit Olive Juice Studio blog for cool candy

Go and visit the Olive Juice Studio.  They are giving away blog candy for guessing the number of plastic easter eggs that are in a basket shown on the blog.  It's just that simple.  The more people that join in, the more prizes that will be added to the blog candy (which is already pretty good).

Good luck

Our Craft Lounge: new sketch challenge

There is a new sketch challenge at 'Our Craft Lounge'.  It is a beautiful layout and was easy to work with.  Bee-sides, I couldn't wait to do a challenge with the stamp set that I won in March from 'Our Craft Lounge' !
The stamp set is 'Bees Knees'.  The ribbon is from Michaels, my expression for the die cuts.  The ribbon, paper and flowers were from my scrap basket.  Faux stitching, dimensionals and ink on the edges.
This is a great stamp set and I am very grateful to 'Our Craft Lounge' for supplying the sketches and the prizes.

Multiple challenge time!

This rainy, stormy day has been perfect for 'playing with paper' which I have been doing all day long!  This first entry is for 3 separate challenges.
#1.  Corrosive Challenges by Janet:  The layout
#2.  Inky Impressions:  Think Green
#3.  Sophisti-Cat:  Flourish and Bling
The layout and color base are obvious.  The stamp is a digital one, sorry I don't know the author.  Nesties for the die cut, Michaels ribbon, swiss dot folder, paper scraps, SU dazzling diamonds and star shaped brads round it out.  On the inside the 'happyhappyhappy' is from Our Craft Lounge and the Mom's Day cut out on my expression.  (again with SU dazzling diamonds).
Hope you enjoy looking as much as I enjoy making them.

Couture Cardstock challenge

Hey!  I won 10 pages of cardstock from Couture Cardstock for my entry from yesterday.  Please look at their site for challenges and some amazing paper.
I took up todays challenge.  To complete a project started long ago but not finished.  This scrapbook page is using pictures from scuba diving in the caribbean in 2007.  I knew I wanted a blue background (duh - the ocean) but it just seemed so dark.  I finally got around to filtering the color in the photos (lots of green in ocean pics!) and suddenly the page didn't seem so dark.
A little paper tearing, some paper and photo cutouts and hey....not to bad for a page I really didn't think that I would finish.

Our Craft Lounge

How much fun are the OCL stamps?  I just love them.  Doing this challenge weekly is a labor of love and creation and fun.
The background paper is DCWV photostack 2.  I chose a scene that met the challenge sketch by having a distinct division between the top and bottom graphics since I didn't use layers of paper to do this division.
The stamp set is Golfin Gramps.  He is colored with copics and cut out.  Then mounted on a piece of round white cardstock that has been debossed with the cuttlebug swiss dots folder.  This is all up on dimensionals.  The bucket of balls and the flag are flat mounted on the page, partially behind the big golf ball.  The sentiment is from the same stamp set and also on dimensional.
Gramps is a great addition to the OCL library of stamps.  Goes along with the Grannie series just beautifully!  Too much fun!

Multiple challenge entry

Just passed my PALS class at work today and figured I earned some time in my craft room.  (as if I need a reason!)  This card fits into several challenge categories.  It covers the copic color challenge to use #s BG15,  B93 and Y21.  It covers Papertake Weekly challenge to use "buttons, bows, brads and bling".  I covered them all but the buttons.  I just haven't gotten into buttons (yet)!  I fits the Pink Elephant color challenge for using green.  Finally, it fits into Couture Cardstocks challenge in an interesting way.  I ran out of adhesive.  So.....I used fabric bonding tape from my sewing box along with my heat tool (yeah, the one I use for embossing)  Actually worked, will be interesting to see how well it holds up!  Anyway, here is the card.
For the red card :  Doodlebug design
Pink Dot cardstock:  Best Creations Inc.
Unknown stampset
Michaels ribbon
SU:  dazzling diamonds
Dragonfly brad and rhinestone bling
Flower soft in the frame around the word
Inked edges
Copic markers for coloring including BG15, B93, Y21
The inked edge cardstock is on dimensionals

2S4Y challenge

One more challenge for today.  Can't believe I have gotten three of them done this morning!  2S4Y has a sketch challenge going with  a chance to win stamps from DeNami Designs.  I have never used these stamps but the samples shown on the 2S4Y blog are gorgeous.
For this card I used SU stampset 'Love ya Bunches'.  My cricut to cut out the shapes, copics for coloring, colored stone brads, dazzling diamonds and scrap papers and yarn.  I always have lots of scraps leftover from my scrapbooking that makes cardmaking so much easier!

Couture Cardstock is having a challenge! / The Pink Elephant

Another challenge to work on!  Good thing I have a day or two off.  After a really long three days working in the ER this weekend, playing with paper is saves my sanity!
The only rule for todays challenge (they are having a new one every day this month) is to us a paper edger in your design.  So easy, everyone should play.  Just click on the blinkie for Couture Cardstock on my blog!  This card also fits for the challenge on 'The Pink Elephant'  Just have to use green.  So works for this card!
I used OCL stampset 'Golfin Gramps' and  background paper from Daisyd's.  Copics for coloring and a Martha Stewart paper edge punch for the strip under the big golf ball (a circle embossed with dots using my bigshot)  The golfer was stamped, cut out and then adhered to the golf ball.  The bucket of balls and the sentiment are on dimensionals, all is on a dark gray card.

New OCL/MOT challenge...another card

I am so excited about winning the first Memories of Time/Our Craft Lounge sketch challenge that I have to enter the next one.  It is so cool to see what everyone does with the inspiration of a sketch!
I used OCL stamps 'Natures Notes' for the butterfly and the tone on tone stamp on the orange card stock, 'Say it Big' for the sentiment.  Copics, SU dazzling diamonds, pearls colored with my copics, papers and ribbon from my scrap basket.  Also used my nesties.  Not really colors that I usually work with but I was trying to get out of the box since this sketch is that with the sentiment being the main part of the card rather than the picture.
I really enjoy making cards that aren't neccessarily for a special occasion or holiday.  Just because I want to.  Hope you all like it also

So excited!

Yipppeeeee!.   I am so excited!  I have won the stamp set from OCL and Memories of Time.  What a cool thing.  I have already picked out the stamp set that I want and have plans for my first card with them.

I have just finished an exhausting 3 days working the ER and this was wonderful news to come home to.  Thanks to OCL and MOT, can't wait to get back to playing with more paper!
